No more mosaics I promise! It was an amazing place but like many places here in Sicily the tourism infrastructure doesn’t exist to make it easy to get to. There were some other tour groups but it isn’t mobbed like Pompei.

was the first photo in the master bedroom or the one for the mistress?!!!! Great photos. Did they mention if there were any color changes after they were excavated? Were they thought to be more vibrant initially?

There was one ranger who’s sole job seemed to be mopping the mosaics to bring up the colours. Apparently they were brighter but the original structure over the whole complex was perspex (!) which got really hot and had some impact on the colours. Now its been replaced with a cooler wooden structure.
